30 Floors Up Roblox water: store it, treat it, find more

Where your water comes from

  1. Fill everythingTub ~50 L, buckets 10 L, bottles 1 L, while the taps run
  2. Store on the rackCounts toward the survival guide’s days
  3. Taps stopDay 2–4, with the power cut
  4. Loot and treatOther flats, rain water, the heater’s 15 L: boil first
  5. Open the floor 27 valveWrench on the valve riser: taps run again
Water sources in the order players use them, from recordings of 2–8 November.

Short answer: fill every bucket and bottle while the taps still run (a full bucket holds 10 L, the bathtub about 50 L) and store them on the water rack. After the taps stop, drink stored clean water first, treat rain and heater water before drinking it, and open the valve riser on floor 27 with a wrench to bring the taps back.

Water is the supply that runs out first. In one guide’s day 1 survival summary, 18 L of clean water was enough for nine days at full rations, which works out to about 2 L a day per person at full rations; lower rations stretch it.

How much water can you store before the taps stop?

Container Holds Where players found it
Cleaning bucket 10 L when filled to the top Under the sink; more buckets in cupboards and in other apartments
Bathtub about 50 L Your bathroom; leave the plug in and fill it
Bottles (1 L) 1 L Kitchen, closets, other apartments; sealed bottles cannot be refilled once the water is off
Jerry can not shown Your apartment; one group found it next to the toolbox

Players who filled the tub, every bucket and the spare containers reported between 68 L and 100 L of clean water by day 2. Fill buckets right to the top: the game checks whether the water is safe to drink, and a half-filled bucket wastes a trip.

The objective “fill all containers before the taps run dry” appears on day 2. Treat it as the last call; one player who waited found the tap dry while trying to fill a bottle.

How do you treat water?

Only water from the taps before the cut counts as clean. Everything else is marked untreated:

  • Rain water can be collected, but must be treated before drinking.
  • The water heater in the utility room still holds about 15 L of untreated water after the cut; the game tells you to drain it at its base when you need it. If you get a “leak” message, shut the red valve first.
  • Treating means boiling. One co-op group was told the water was unhealthy until they turned the knob and boiled it; the portable gas stoves found in several apartments are the likely heat source, though no recording shows the full steps yet.

The survival book’s rule is short: treat collected water.

How do you get water after the taps stop?

  1. Take it from other apartments. Empty apartments still have bottles, buckets and full tubs. One guide maker also turns off the water supply in other apartments so more is left for you.
  2. Drain the water heater and treat it (above).
  3. Open the valve riser on floor 27. It sits behind a door on floor 27 that you force open, and it needs the adjustable wrench. Turning it restores the water: one player’s taps came back right after, and another guide says it pumps water up to the rooftop tank. Refill everything as soon as it runs. Getting there: vents and lift shafts; finding the wrench: tools.

How do you drink?

Hold the container (a bottle or bucket) and use the drink action; the thirst bar refills. Thirst drains faster than hunger, so drink before long trips out of the apartment. Neighbors also ask for water: Dev Patel on floor 31 needs clean water (neighbors list).

How long will your water last?

The survival guide in the game does this count for you, but it helps to know the scale before the taps stop. The one figure players have shown is 18 L = nine days at full rations, so about 2 L a day per player at full rations. Working from that (our arithmetic, not a game number):

Stored clean water Solo, full rations Group of 4, full rations
1 bucket (10 L) about 5 days about 1 day
Tub only (~50 L) about 25 days about 6 days
Tub + 2 buckets (~70 L) about 35 days about 9 days
100 L (best day-2 stock seen) about 50 days about 12 days

Reduced and emergency rations stretch these further; the game has not shown the exact rate for each level. A group of four drains water four times as fast, which is why co-op runs need the floor 27 valve much sooner than solo runs.

Water mistakes from the recordings

  • Waiting for the day 2 objective. By the time it appears, you may have hours, not days.
  • Trying to fill the toilet. A co-op group thought about it; the game does not let you store water there.
  • Counting sealed bottles as refillable. Once the taps are dry, they stay empty.
  • Drinking untreated water. The game marks rain and heater water as unhealthy until it is boiled.
