30 Floors Up Roblox backpacks, lights and radio
Inventory upgrades
- Start"Slots are full" on day 1
- BackpackSide room near the vent entrance
- Hiking packEli’s parents’ room; floor 19 kitchen
Short answer: you start with a small inventory (four slots, per players), and a backpack adds four more; a hiking pack from Eli’s parents’ room is the bigger upgrade. After the power cut you need light: a flashlight with a draining battery, a lantern, a headlamp or candles. The radio you get from Mara plays the city emergency broadcast.
How do you get more inventory space?
| Bag | Where | Slots |
|---|---|---|
| None | Start | Four, per one guide; players hit “slots are full” within the first day |
| Backpack | A side room near the vent entrance, close to your apartment | Adds four (one player); one guide says it doubles your slots from four to eight |
| Hiking pack | Eli’s parents’ room on floor 30; another in the community kitchen on floor 19 | Listed as six slots in one run; guides recommend it over the plain backpack |
Wear the bag, then move items into it. Space is what limits every supply run, so a bag is worth getting on day 1 or 2. Until then, leave tools you do not need for the trip at home and remember where you put them.
How do you see in the dark?
After the power cut the corridors and shafts are pitch black at night (power cut).
| Light | Where | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Flashlight | Your apartment; Eli’s parents’ room | Battery drains (one was at 68% after a long session); you can shine it through the peephole |
| Batteries | Other apartments, the medical cabinet room | For the flashlight and the radio |
| Lantern | A cupboard | One guide’s pick if you cannot see |
| Headlamp | The apartment next door, floor 27 | Hands-free; one player could not find how to switch it on |
| Candles | Several apartments | Short-range backup |
Opening the blinds in daylight lights your own apartment for free.
What does the radio say?
Mara trades you the radio for two food portions (neighbors). Turned on, it plays a recorded message from City Emergency Services (recorded at 6:00 AM):
- residents who are able to move should head to the construction site;
- reception is open at the north and east gates, with medical examination and registration;
- do not drive on the roads or approach checkpoints outside the set times;
- residents who cannot move should stay home and lock their doors.
The survival book’s rule applies: a radio heard through headphones is safer than a loudspeaker, so one player went out onto the balcony to play it. A second voice heard through the ventilation mentions a north relay station and “not alone”. What these lead to is in how to escape.
The phone
Phones lie around several apartments. One guide says the phone can be used to contact people; other players picked it up and found no use yet.
Why do the slot numbers disagree?
Three recordings give three different figures: the backpack “adds four”, one guide says it “doubles” you from four to eight, and the hiking pack showed six. The likeliest reading is that the hiking pack’s six is its own capacity on top of your pockets, but the game may also have changed between builds; Update 1.0 landed in the middle of these recordings. Either way the order is the same: any bag first, the hiking pack when you can.
What to pack for a supply run
- Your weapon (one slot).
- The tool the route needs: screwdriver or wrench.
- A light if there is any chance of dark.
- Empty space for what you are going to bring back.
Leave keys you will not use on this trip at home, in one known spot.
