30 Floors Up Roblox Daniel: should you let him in?
Short answer: Daniel lives next door and knocks on the first night because his own door will not catch. Letting him in is safe in every recording we found: he stays, watches the door while you sleep and later says you need to get to the roof, but he does not fight. Talking on the chain also works. Ignoring him is the risky answer: one guide found him turned into a zombie the next day.
What happens when Daniel knocks?
On night 0, just before you sleep, someone knocks. Through the peephole you see your neighbor. Hook the chain and open a crack and he explains, in the same words in every run:
- his door will not catch and keeps coming back open;
- the strike plate is loose and he has nothing that fits to tighten it;
- the stairs are full of people “and something’s wrong with them”.
Then you choose.
Let him in, talk, or ignore him?
| Your choice | What players saw |
|---|---|
| Let him in | He thanks you, promises not to be in the way and says he will keep an ear on the door and warn you if anything is coming. He stays in your apartment from then on. |
| Talk on the chain, keep him out | He suggests you help each other out and asks you not to leave the hallway door open. You can close up and sleep. |
| Ignore the knocking | One guide reports the knocking stops, and when you break into his apartment the next day he is roaming around as a fresh zombie. |
Is Daniel useful?
In the runs where he moved in:
- He keeps watch. “Keep an ear on the door. I’ll tell you if anything’s coming.”
- He does not fight. Players being swarmed at the door shouted for help while he stood and watched, and zombies ignored him and went for the player.
- He points you upward. Later he says you cannot stay in this part of the building and need to get to the roof, offering to follow once you have checked the route (rooftop, how to escape).
No recording shows him eating your food or turning on you. Letting him in costs you nothing we can see and gains a lookout, so it is the safer pick until the game shows otherwise.
What does Daniel say?
The lines are the same in every recording; these are the ones that matter for your decision:
| When | What he says (paraphrased) |
|---|---|
| At the door | His door will not catch and keeps swinging open; the plate is loose and he has nothing to tighten it |
| At the door | The stairs are full of people and something is wrong with them |
| On the chain, kept out | You could help each other; just do not leave the hallway door open |
| Let in | Thanks for letting him stay; he will keep an ear on the door |
| Days later | You cannot stay in this part of the building; you need to get to the roof |
In one Russian-language run the captions have him say he lost his keys instead; the outcome was the same.
Does Daniel affect the ending?
Unknown. He is the first neighbor to point at the roof, and he offers to follow you once you have checked the route, which suggests he can come along on an escape. No recording has reached that point yet.
