# 30 Floors Up Roblox weapons

**Short answer:** every weapon in the recordings is a melee item you find around the building: **baseball bat, knife, frying pan, hammer, rolling pin**. The **baseball bat** is the one guides keep, because its reach and the stagger on a hit make the hit-and-step-back rhythm easy. The **knife** is the best second item because it also opens food.

## All weapons players have used

No recording from 2 to 8 November shows a gun, ammunition or a crafted weapon.

## Which weapon is best?

The **bat**, for the reason one guide gives: every swing drains a big chunk of stamina, so the weapon that lets you hit once and back off safely beats the one with the biggest hit. Its reach lets you start the swing before the zombie can touch you. Players using it cleared single zombies without losing health.

The **knife** comes second: it is nearly as easy to use and saves the slot you would spend on a separate tool for food.

A weapon does not fix bad timing. Players complain about missing at point-blank range with every weapon, including one who gave up on the bat, grabbed a hammer and still could not land a hit; slow down and swing when the zombie is fully in reach ([combat](https://30floorsupguide.wiki/survival/zombies-and-combat/)).

## How many weapons should you carry?

One. Inventory space is short (four slots before a backpack, per players) and you need room for water, tools and loot. Keep a spare at home in case the main one gets left behind in a scramble.

## Do weapons show damage numbers?

At least one does. When a player picked up the hammer from the starting toolbox, the game listed it as a weapon with **23 damage**, and showed that the screwdriver is not a weapon at all. No recording has shown the bat’s or the knife’s number side by side, so we cannot rank them by damage yet; the guides rank them by reach and handling instead.

## How to swing well

- **Wait for the zombie to be fully in reach.** Most misses in the recordings were swings started too early.

- **Count your swings against your stamina.** One hit, step back, then the next; do not hold the button.

- **Keep the doorway behind you, not in front.** You need space to step back into.

- **Close a door instead of fighting a third zombie.** Doors buy time; health does not come back.
